BioBag Food Waste Bags are primarily used for the collection of food scraps, kitchen waste and other compostable waste for home or community composting. Our popular BioBag 3 gallon size is designed to fit most kitchen countertop composting pails or for lining small waste bins.
BioBag 3 gallon bags are made using Non-GMO crops and meet the ASTM 6400 standard for compostable products. Most communities have designated days for yard and compostable waste pick-up. Check to see if there is a program in your area.

The certification process tests a product's ability to decompose at a rate similar to other compostable* items placed in the same setting. We are proud to have earned this distinction from OK Compost and, more importantly, assure our home composting users that this BioBag product will do what it is supposed to do!
*Compostable waste can include: Food Waste: Bread, grains, pasta, vegetable, coffee grounds, meat, dairy, eggshells, fruits, leftovers and spoiled food. Yard Waste: Branches, leaves, flowers, floral trimmings, grasses and weeds. Soiled Paper: Coffee filters, paper tea bags, greasy pizza boxes, paper napkins, cups and plates. This certification assures that BioBag products meet the specifications found in ASTM D6400 and will compost rapidly and safely when placed in a municipal or commercial composting facility. Please check to make sure facility are available in your community.
BioBag: Nothing Lasts Forever
A polyethylene bag, which BioBag thankfully is not, can take years to degrade and is not compostable. BioBags are made from starches of renewable GMO free crops. This means that our bags can be consumed by micro-organisms which live in our soils. Changes in heat and storage conditions can affect the life span of BioBag products. For best results, please store this product in a cool, dry location and use within a year of purchase.
