Within this formula, Hua Shi, Che Qian Zi, Qu Mai, Bian Xu, and Deng Xin Cao all clear heat and disinhibit urination. Zhi Zi clears heat and eliminates dampness, while processed Da Huang drains replete heat. Gan Cao harmonizes all the other ingredients in the formula
