Sure, you can sip Assam for breakfast. We encourage it. But we're not going to call this tea the classic "English Breakfast," because that typically refers to a blend of lesser quality teas. These are big, black, organic tea leaves grown in Assam, India, where hot days and cool nights bring out a rich, full flavor.
Two Leaves Tea Company Black Tea Organic English Breakfast Tea is a traditional breakfast tea: whole leaf 100% assam tea and flowery orange pekoe. Assam, in the far northeast of India, is one of the premier tea growing regions of the world.
However, only a small amount of assam's tea is large leaf "orthodox" tea; an even smaller quantity is organic. Two Leaves Tea works directly with the growers to develop the highest quality organic tea and encourage more organic growth. This organic, malty, rich and smooth black tea comes in an eco-friendly cylinder that holds 100 grams of loose tea.
Have the true garden experience - go there with Two Leaves Tea Company Loose Tea. As the whole leaf teas unfurl, you'll discover flavors and aromas unlike any you've experienced before. Two Leaves offers many of its teas in sachets in loose form, as well as offering many exclusively loose teas such as Pinhead Gunpowder and Jasmine Pearl, all in sleeves that yield 50-100 servings of tea: a fantastic economical solution for avid tea drinkers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did they shorten their name from two leaves and a bud tea company™ to two leaves tea company™? In a word, simplicity! They found their long name, while descriptive, was confusing to people - tea lovers and tea novices alike.
Why did Two Leaves packaging change? Two Leaves packaging has changed to match their new (shorter) name and logo. The new packaging is also more eco-friendly; they have replaced the plastic over-wrap with a simple tear-strip at the top of the box. Plus, their eco-friendly sleeves inside the box that keep your tea fresh are now 18% smaller. Furthermore, they know you appreciate a good lookin' box of tea. But while their look is different, it's the same quality tea you have come to enjoy.
I bought two boxes of the same kind of tea and found that they taste slightly different. Why is that? Two Leaves teas will occasionally vary in flavor for couple of reasons. First, tea is an agricultural crop that is affected from harvest to harvest by changes in weather conditions, including temperature and levels of precipitation (just like wine grapes!). Second, they source their whole leaf teas from single gardens, and on occasion, they are forced to find new gardens and new tea crops. Despite these variables, they always endeavor to source quality organic tea that tastes as much like the previous crop as possible.
